‘Kala’ vidiots
Here’s the video for ‘Jimmy‘ off M.I.A.’s Kala. Like ‘Boyz,’ it references ’80s video games, but also the original Disco Dancer song (via PMH):
Diplo and Maya webcam their way through ‘Paper Planes’:
I’m not feeling them much.

The arm+hand choreography in the first video is superb.
I like the Jimmy video but I think they forgot to actually make some music to go with it. All I hear is noise.
And where’s Mithuuuuuun?!
It has been “inspired(read - copied)” from a Thai dance, whose video is available on youtube.
Since - the first video in essence is an “inspired” song from Disco Dance- I think its all fair.
The video improves the song somewhat, especially the first half.
I was surprised to see MIA in a blond wig, though maybe I shouldn’t be. Homegirl is unpredictable like that.
Doesn’t look like a wig to me.
rohin you are bad! but right on. i don’t got the guts to say so.
but the video definetly is real trippy. i watched it like a dozen time already at work today.
I’m in love. She’s got amazing vocals and the beats are heavy.
I didn’t listen to Indian music for a long time because I couldn’t find anything like this.
I got the Sholay Galang remix and the bass on their is so awesome that my neighbors complain.
Props to M.I.A. and her crew.
