Two of my favorite hip-hop artists have great new material out. Listen to the orchestral, Celtic ‘General‘ by Jersey rapper Raja Wilco, which starts with a Bollywood audio sample, criticizes the Iraq war and name-checks desi ethnicities. ‘Slang Rap’ has an extended sample from a King of New York scene. You can download several tracks for free.
Also check out the lush, layered remixes of ‘Crowd Control‘ and ‘Blood Brothers’ by Karmacy (one of the guys is a friend from college). When Karmacy released their second album, I forwarded it to a friend who liked the conscious South Asian lyrics but felt the beats were a bit flat and retro. The remixes put that to rest.
Tamil Malaysian rappers Agniputra (God of War) are doing something I’ve never heard before. On ‘Irravanil Attam,’ they sing reggaeton in Tamil, much like the Hindi sample on Daddy Yankee’s ‘M�rame.’

Yes. This is figurative.
I appreciate the feedback….the intro though is not the sample of a Bollywood film….it is actually from “The Last of the Mohicans†if anyone is curious.
The song (not typical of desi hip-hop but hip-hop does still have conciousness in it) touches upon topics such as history, corruption, politics, and of course the struggle of life in “general.â€
“Slang Rap” also has a sample but its from “King of New York” (Christopher Walken) not Scarface although I definitely appreciate it being mentioned…
I fully appreciate the support of Sepia Mutiny and Ultrabrown sincerely and am honored to be a favorite hip-hop artist of anyone.

Both are also featured tracks on “Eternity and Raja Wilco Present: Chicken & Rice Xtra Hot Sauce, White Sauce” mixtape. For those in the NYC region you will be familiar with the title and the reason for it is the mixtape is a mix of different flavors such as is the 53rd & 6th Chicken-n-rice stand. Plus you need to play it after the club!!

who is this guy? i seen and met PAKMAN at the Independace day 07 at LA Exposition Park. that foo was rollin deep, it was a hell of a song, people were going crazy for more…but damm! i think he was off the hook..he raps fast.
