Perspective
The Indian photog formerly known as 50mm has a lovely portfolio of her work up on Flickr (via Amardeep). It’s more gloss than grit. But two comments on this photo of an Indian model betray a, shall we say, lack of perspective:

Well what are you gonna do…people are so damn ignorant sometimes. At work (in the most superficial environment that ever exists) there are actually ignorant white people in NYC that will say shit like “how do you get your color” all the time! Yeah they know I’m Indian. I just don’t think they are that smart to figure this is my natural color.
You know, what’s curious about this ValleyGirl person is that according to her profile: she’s originally Libyan, but now is living in the UAE after being born and brought up in the US.
You’d think that with that sort of upbringing/background she’d know a brown person when she saw one.
Glad you agree on 50 mm — I was kind of blown away just to find those sitting there on Flickr.
