Aziz Ansari apparently played the same character in Scrubs as in Funny People and Parks and Recreation. But that one character is hilarious.
Here’s how he was written off when he landed Parks and its inevitable schedule conflict. Playing an underperforming desi med student is breaking stereotypes of a sort:

hilarious clip. he’s got a unique sense/style of humour. surprisingly, i saw some comments on a fan site where it appears many people were happy that Aziz’s character got the boot from the show.
Aziz is one of the few comedians whose standup performance I’d be excited to go see. Hope he comes to Boston/NY some time this spring. He’s miles ahead of that hack, Russell Peters. Has that dude gotten past Asian mimicry yet?
