Spoofity spoof
DJ Drrrty Poonjabi came to the the S.F. Sepia meetup last night bearing gifts: copies of a brilliant, self-produced CD called Fear of a Wheatish Planet. Track number two is the star. ‘Diwali Barbie’ samples Anna’s radio interview about Diwali Barbie, Goodness Gracious Me’s ‘Punjabi Girl’ parody, the original song, and interjections from Clueless.
DP added some voiceovers of his own. See if you can spot ‘em. Needless to say, this track was on heavy repeat during the drive home.
Vinod got his own shout-out with ‘Curry Bomb (Fukuyama End of History Mix).’ There are more mashups on DP’s blog.

Outstanding!
That was my fav track too.
Patent Pending!
Whoops, that link is wrong, try this one.
Thanks for the bon mots, Vijster. I know the CD borderlines on creepy, but believe me: I’m way too self-obsessed to be a stalker. It that isn’t comforting, I don’t know what is.
Vinod and the rest of the Mutineers got shout-outs, an Ultrabrown meetup may yield similar results. (Hint, hint.)
Excelsior!
PS Suede, drop me a line, champ. Your over the top, Archie Bunker-esque racism and general rambunctiousness was genuinely appreciated.
OMG. I can’t even spell my own handle. Third time’s the charm.
I’m still partial to the Muppet Babies remix. ;) Sorry I missed out on all the fun!
Congrats DJ DP and vel done… cant wait to get back and enjoying these in some privcy (not a possibility in desh unfortunately. we are lke this vonly).
