Poor CNN anchor T.J. Holmes had to explain black culture on air and listen to a white auntie assess Obama’s swagga. In other news, Holmes acknowledged for the first time on air that he is in fact a brotha.

Some news people are cool when they relax a bit. I once heard Corey Flintoff drop “reprezent” during a fund-raising drive. He was clearly having a laugh at himself. This woman, to use her newfound vocab, is wac.

Because it is cool and acceptable if you are denying your White ancestry. Rather than T.J. Holmes, I’d like to have seen CNN’s venerable Bernard Shaw explain that cultural aspect.
Because in this reality, appearances are paramount. What you see on Barack is a black man, even though his genotype shows that to be incomplete. Sad, but true.

Hmmm… not so sure about that. While he may not have used direct wording to that effect,( to use an overused term from the election) the “dog whistles” are there :

Now would Obama have said “My father abandoned my mother and me , like a typical Black man” ? Especially in the light of the fact that the majority of Black children in the US grown up in single parent households ? I think not.
What do African American intellectuals think when they see something like this?? I dont think it could be a good experience.

Why is it so hard for these idiots to understand that you cant be cool just by “swagga” (or whatever the f’ the street word in fashion) but you could be cool by being smart articulate and confident.
